Harpenden

The week of Feb 8 through the 12th we were at another YWAM base called Harpenden that was located in the city of Harpenden. We were there for a conference called EQUIP which is a conference that was supposed to be just for YWAM staff and not DTS students but we got a special invitation. Due to the new leadership at Holmsted and the high expectations that were on this particular DTS we were able to get an invitation

First of all I would like to say that this conference was amazing I learned lots about the Holy Spirit, Vision for the future, and how to implement that vision. Second I want to say that this conference was pretty charismatic and some of you that I know would be pretty uncomfortable here. I know people that were prophesied over and the prophesy turned out to be true but they had never met the person.(One girl was prophesied over that she would be a nurse and thats exactly what she wants to be, she had never met the person outside of the conference) All this to say that eventhough it was a charismatic conference everything they did there was founded on scripture and there was NO snake handling or anything crazy like that.

Brighton

So this is our trip to Brighton, we went to brighton one saturday just for the afternoon. Brighton is on the coast and has a beach and a pier and everything. However before we get to Brighton we had to walk to the bus station so that we could catch a bus to the train station.

This is the road that we have to walk to get to bus stop and the pub.
This is us on the bus and we are on our way to Heyward's Heath which is a small town and its the closest train station.

We just got on the train at this point there were 6 of us.

This is Erin and Ashlyn and this is the beach at Brighton. Its a pretty rocky beach in fact its not really like charleston.

This is me in front of the not so big waves (im really missing surfing at this point).

This is a hobie cat 16 footer I just had to take a picture. Nobody in my group knew had ever been on a sail boat before.

This is the only surf shop in Brighton and everything about it reminded me of home. They mainly sell paddle boards here because the waves don't really get that big here. However they did have an indo board here and I showed all my friends how to do it, they were pretty impressed.

This is a really fancy dinner we had one night during our second week at Holmsted. We had the dinner because there are many staff members at holmsted that are leaving soon so this dinner was to honor them.
